นี่ก็เป็นครั้งแรก (ครั้งแรกอีกแล้วครับท่าน...จะเห็นได้ว่าช่วงไม่กี่เดือนที่ผ่านมา ผมมีครั้งแรก...กับหลายๆสิ่งซึ่งเป็นเครื่องพิสูจน์ได้ดีว่า การได้พบเจอสิ่งใหม่ๆถือเป็นเรื่องสนุกมากอย่างหนึ่งในชีวิตผมเลยที่เดียว ไม่ว่าเรื่องนั้นจะเล็กหรือจะใหญ่ไม่สำคัญ ก็ให้สนุกกับมันอย่างเต็มที่ ก็พอแล้วครับ) ที่ผมได้เข้าไปสนามม้าประกอบกับเป็นวันที่มีการแข่งม้าชิงถ้วยพระราชทานจักรี ครั้งที่ 32 ในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 6 เมษายน 2551 ที่ผ่านมา ณ ราชกรีฑาสโมสร ถนน อังรี ดูนังต์
หลายคนอาจติดภาพว่า สนามม้าเป็นแหล่งการพนัน ใช่ครับ ผมไม่เถียง เพราะในใจผมก็บอกเช่นนั้น จึงทำให้เราๆท่านๆ ซึ่งเป็นคนรุ่นใหม่ ไม่สนใจทั้งการพนันและยาเสพติด "การพนันเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกีฬาหลายประเภทอย่างแยกไม่ออก การแข่งม้าเองก็เป็นกีฬาอีกประเภทหนึ่ง ซึ่งมีการพนันอยู่ด้วยอย่างถูกกฎหมาย" ผู้รู้ท่านหนึ่งกล่่าวให้ผมฟังขณะพาเยี่ยมชม รอบๆบริเวณราชกรีฑาสโมสร
ผู้คนเรือนหมื่นกระจายกันอยู่ในหลายๆบริเวณ ท่านว่าวันนี้น่าจะมีคนเข้ามาชมไม่ต่ำกว่าหมื่นคน จากสนามที่จุได้กว่าสองหมื่นคน นี่ลดลงไปกว่าครึ่งจากเดิมก่อนที่จะมีการปรับปรุงสนามน่าจะจุได้ถึงสามหมื่นคน "เดี๋ยวนี้คนสนใจม้า ลดลงไปมากกว่าเดิมมาก จะเห็นว่าคนส่วนใหญ่ที่อยู่ที่นี่ก็อายุอานามไม่ต่ำกว่าเลขสามเลขสี่ทั้งนั้น ถ้าไม่มีคนรุ่นๆอย่างพวกคุณมาสนใจเรื่องเหล่านี้ ไม่ช้าไม่นานก็จะไม่มีใครรู้เรื่อง"
ทำอย่างไรจึงจะพัฒนาให้กีฬาชนิดนี้เป็นที่ยอมรับมากขึ้นได้ในสังคมปัจจุบัน น่าจะเป็นโจทย์ที่ผู้บริหารสนามม้าแห่งนี้กำลังใช้ความพยายามอย่างยิ่งในการค้นหาคำตอบ เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศเป็นประเด็นหนึ่งซึ่งถูกหยิบยกมาพูกคุยกันและเป็นโจทย์ที่ผมได้รับในวันนี้ แต่ก่อนจะไปถึงตรงนั้น ผมได้เห็นถึงอุปสรรคหลายๆประการ ไล่เรียงตั้งแต่สิ่งที่จับต้องได้ยากอย่างค่านิยมและเจตคติของคนไทย (ผมยังนึกอยู่ว่า ถ้าไม่มีใครชวนมา อยู่ดีๆผมจะควักกระเป๋า 50 บาทเพื่อเป็นค่าผ่านประตูหรืิอไม่ นั่นยังไม่รวมถึงถ้ามีใครมาถามผมว่า วันนี้ไปไหนมา ผมตอบไปอย่างภาคภูมิใจว่า ไปสนามม้ามา และลองจินตนาการถึงสีหน้าคนถามถ้าคนๆนั้นเป็นคุณแม่ของคุณเอง) กฏ ระเบียบ ภาษี การบริหารในแง่มุมต่างๆ ก็ยังเป็นปัญหาที่หลายๆคนยังคิดไม่ตก
พักเรื่องหนักๆไว้ก่อน ผมขอเล่าต่อว่า หลังจากที่ได้เดินดูตั้งแต่สถานที่ให้ม้าเตรียมตัวก่อนแข่ง จุดปล่อยม้า ตำแหน่งและวิธีการในการปล่อยตัวม้า ไปจนถึงขั้นตอนและวิธีการในการพนัน วิธีการแปลผลข้อมูลต่างๆที่อยู่บนสกอร์บอร์ด ยังไม่ทันจะย่อยข้อมูลต่างๆได้อย่างสมบูรณ์ สัญญานการปล่อยตัวม้ารอบที่ 3 ก็เริ่มต้นขึ้น "เบอร์เก้า เจ้าขวัญใจน้องแบงค์ ตามมาด้วย เบอร์สาม วายวอรี่" เจ้าหน้าที่ลากเสียงยาวคล้ายกาพย์เห่เรือ เป็นเสียงที่ทำให้ผมรู้สึกลุ้นเหมือนมีคนภาคมวยแบบเทปยืด แต่ก็เรียกว่าแปลกไปอีกแบบหนึ่ง ด้วยระยะทาง 1200เมตร แข่งแบบม้วนเดียวจบ ระยะเวลาการแข่งเพียงไม่เกินสองนาทีต่อรอบ ผลแพ้ชนะก็ปรากฎต่อสายตาผู้เข้าชม พร้อมเสียงดีใจ หรือเสียใจกับผลดังกล่าว
ต้องได้เข้าไปเห็นแหละครับจึงจะได้รู้ว่า ในแต่ละจังหวะของชีวิตของเราก็มีอีกหลายๆจังหวะของชีวิตที่กำลังทำอะไรสักอย่างอยู่ สนามม้าวันนี้ก็เป็นอีกภาพหนึ่ง เป้นละครสั้นๆอีกเรื่องหนึ่งที่ทำให้ผมรู้สึกว่า การเรียนรู้ไม่มีที่สิ้นสุดจริงๆ จงเดินหน้าไปสัมผัสกับสิ่งที่คุณยังไม่เคยสิครับ เหรียญมันยังมีสองด้านฉันใด สนามม้าก็น่าจะมีอีกด้านหนึ่งที่หลายๆคนยังไม่เคยมองเห็น เป็นความสนุก ตื่นเต้น ไม่ต่างไปจากกีฬา ชนิดอื่นๆหากเราจะหันมามองมุมนั้นบ้าง
